"Here Come Tonight" - John Dubuc's Guilty Pleasures

April 17, 2025 Dan Stahl

Magnaphone Records is pleased to announce a new single from John Dubuc’s Guilty Pleasures called ‘Here Come Tonight’ with an accompanying  video Produced by Broken Tape LLC.

The band picks up work on a new album following Dubuc’s return from an injury. Here Come Tonight was co-produced by Tim Pritchard and John Dubuc’s Guilty Pleasures at Great Horned Audio in Dayton, OH and mastered by Adam Boose at Cauliflower Audio in Cleveland.

This single and the new material in general find John Dubuc’s Guilty Pleasures exploring a powerpop sensibility and straightforward, dry production style reminiscent of late 70s Gram Parker, Elvis Costello and the Attractions, The Clash, and Nick Lowe. It’s vocal centric with a live band feel that displays just what The Guilty Pleasures have blossomed into since forming to support Dubuc’s earlier singer-songwriter material.

“It might be the easiest song I’ve ever written. I challenged myself to write a song in 10-minutes, and when I introduced it to the band i, it just sort of took off and was immediately one of our strongest tunes” muses Dubuc. While no official date is set, a full length record is well on the way. “I’m not sure why we’ve waiting so long to release music. Sometimes I can drag my feet and I needed a wake up call. The band kind of provided that and we decided it was time.”
